Entry Requirements
Our entry requirements reflect the high standards we set in pursuit of our vision for excellence.
In our experience, students with a profile of A* to B will most likely succeed with high grades on A Level programmes. Those with a profile of A* to C are usually better suited to BTEC Programmes including National Awards and National Diplomas. National Awards are one year courses equivalent to one A Level and National Diplomas are two year courses equivalent to two to three A Levels. Both are accepted by most universities and can be taken in vocational subjects. These qualifications a better suited for those who prefer more practical, hand-on (kinaesthetic) learning and can be taken in a range of subjects such as Care, Business, Creative and Performing Arts, IT, Childcare, Applied Sciences and Sport. Additional great advantages of National Awards are that they can be combined to provide a rich and varied learning programme and may also be taken alongside some A Level programmes.
We also offer a range of qualification routes that may lead directly into employment or onto further study. Amongst these are GCSEs, NVQs, BTEC Introductory and First Diplomas and many more. Have a look at the course pages that you are interested in to get full details of the entry requirements for these courses.
Individual subjects will have specific requirements such as Maths or English.
Our Student Services team are always on hand to offer advice on specific entry criteria and parents can talk to them on the telephone or face to face by appointment. We hold frequent open days and information evenings, details of which can be found in the local press and on our website.
